Bad area reviews?
You will find some negative reviews about the neighborhood on Tripadvisor, and yes it is not classy St Germain des Prés there, but you will be perfectly safe as long as you avoid walking the area late at night.
Prices start at €31.50 per night for a shared bedroom and €61 for a private room including breakfast. This is hard to beat in Paris for that kind of clean and modern fittings.
The hostel is located between 1 and 1.5 kilometers (0.6 and 0.9 miles) away from Gare du Nord and Gare de l’Est train stations. You can either walk if your luggage aren’t too heavy or catch metro line 4 to Marcadet – Poissonnier station and then line 2 to Marx Dormoy station.
